Started with a bang!  We’ve recorded all our own tracks and are now having our producer collaborate and re-interpret what we’ve created.  We can even bring in Conrad’s puggle Rio, whose namesake derives from the Duran Duran song.  Here’s some shots of the action.

How do you merge drums and light and man?  Just add a few cups of coffee, intended sleep deprivation and one Finnish technological savant and drummer, Veli Matti-Matilla.  The result: This week’s sneak peak behind-the-scenes of the making of the future Beautiful Machines.

In anticipation of the new work on our album, we are developing a music video for “Tragic.”  Still in the ideation and concepting phase, we will be working with Ad Agency Film Fest winner and director Genevieve McCarty, as well as a motion graphics artist who have worked with artists suck as Bjork, Edison and others.  Check back for behind the scenes videos in the making.

Following SXSW, just two weeks we return to the studio to begin work on our first full length LP that has been more than a year in the making. Gold Dust, Edge, Sexy!  Dancers joined the band, writhed around on stage creating an aura of amazingness.  Ad agency bands joined forces to put on one hell of an eclectic and diverse show.

From the St. Francis Hospital to the St. Regis Ballroom.  From Hospital to Hospitality.

An E.R. visit began the day for Conrad who suffered from a stomach virus and later pulled through to perform a benefit show for Larkin Street Youth Services at the St. Regis Ballroom.  The event boasted VJs, DJs, Piano and Singer, Live Music, Dance and Drink for a cause hosted by Reason to Party.

A magical night at the beautiful St. Regis Ballroom with Celebrities, Beautiful Machines, video installations, laser light show, complimentary beer, wine and cocktails, DJs, an opera/jazz singer and pianist, and for your Drag pleasure, Miss Honey Mahogany hosted by Reason to Party‘s Summer of Love Gala.   All of this, 100% of the proceeds benefiting Larkin Street Youth Services.

Larkin Street Youth Services was founded in 1984 as a neighborhood effort to help San Francisco’s most vulnerable youth – homeless and runaway ages 12-24 – in the Tenderloin and Polk Gulch areas of San Francisco and has served over 70,000 youth since they opened. Their programs address the immediate needs youth have for housing, food and safety, while also encouraging their participation in essential support services that offer the skills and resources needed to help them reach their full potential and keep them off the streets for good.
